Right now, somewhere in Europe, a pharmaceutical technician is following a REWO work instruction to set up a machine that produces medicine. On another site, someone is assembling a component that will be in a car on the motorway next month. REWO is a manufacturing SaaS platform for visual work instructions, digital SOPs, training and compliance records.
We work with world-class European manufacturers like Krka, Coloplast, Stora Enso, Henkel, Mann+Hummel and Hella, and many more, who use REWO worldwide to support more than 500,000 of their workers to do their work correctly and without mistakes. Some run REWO in our cloud; many run it in a dedicated private cloud or fully on-premise, inside their own network.
VIAR is a small, independent team from Celje, with the backing of Kolektor Group. We need a customer-facing engineer who owns how REWO gets deployed, integrated and kept running — and who is the technical counterpart to our customers' IT departments.
What will you actually do?
Roughly half infrastructure and deployments, half customer implementation, integrations and technical communication.
You will take ownership of how REWO is deployed and operated — starting with our regular cloud deployments, then moving into private-cloud and on-premise customer environments. On the customer side, you are the technical counterpart to their IT teams.
That does not mean living in meetings — expect a handful of short technical calls or screen shares a week. But when they happen, we need you comfortable being the technical person in the room, comfortable saying “I don't know yet. I'll check and get back to you” — and then actually owning the follow-up.
Typical work includes:
- Deploying and upgrading REWO in cloud, private-cloud and on-premise environments.
- Monitoring servers, backups and certificates, and keeping environments healthy.
- Working with customer IT on firewall rules, VPN access and connectivity.
- Configuring and troubleshooting MES and ERP integrations — HTTP APIs, authentication, webhooks.
- Configuring SSO and user management against customer identity systems.
- Answering infrastructure, architecture and security questions from customer IT, and supporting sales in technical evaluations.
What should you already bring?
This is not an entry-level role. We need someone who has already been responsible for real production systems — system administration, DevOps, technical implementation and support, or web development with strong infrastructure ownership. What you have actually operated and troubleshot matters more than your job title or degree.
- Solid Linux server administration and independent troubleshooting.
- Experience deploying or operating real applications in production.
- Practical networking: firewalls, VPNs, DNS, connectivity and ports.
- Basic operational database knowledge: backups, restores, connection troubleshooting.
- A good understanding of how web applications and HTTP APIs work.
- The confidence to discuss technical problems with people outside your engineering team.
- Professional working English. Slovenian is not required.
You don't need to know our exact stack on day one — Windows Server and IIS, PHP/Laravel operationally, MySQL/SQL Server, AD/LDAP/SAML and Azure are all learnable here. Direct experience with external customers is also useful but not required. If you have mainly worked with internal IT or business stakeholders and are confident you can grow into customer conversations, that is completely fine.
Practical details
- Hybrid: at least three days a week in our Celje office. Monday and Friday are usually office days; you choose the third.
- Travel: no regular schedule — roughly six customer-site visits a year, one or two days at a time.
- Contract: permanent full-time employment, or full-time B2B through your own s.p. or company. Not part-time contracting.
- Mentorship: you will have a mentor from day one — the person doing this work today — who walks you through our systems, our customers' environments and the parts you haven't done before, until you don't need them.
- You must already have the right to work in Slovenia. We do not sponsor visas or work permits.
- A longer role brief — six-month expectations, how we work day to day, the full learning path — is further down this page.
How to apply
Send your CV or LinkedIn profile to jobs@viar.si.
Please skip the cover letter. Instead, tell us about one technical problem you owned that affected a customer, user or production system: what was happening, how you diagnosed it, who you worked with and how you communicated with them, what you changed, and what changed for their business as a result. We care whether you understood why the problem mattered, not just how you fixed it — and if you never found out the measurable impact, say so. That is a perfectly good answer too.
A few paragraphs is enough, in English or Slovenian. We reply to every application within one week.
